Our goals are to teach about railroading and to further the hobby of model railroading amongst the youth and adults of the community. As part of our education activities, one of our members has counseled more than 35 Boy Scouts through the Railroad Merit Badge in the last two years.

We also helped set up an operational high-shelf layout in the lobby of the Omaha Children's Museum, as part of their Transportation Exhibits. Our LGB group helps maintain it.

We have HO, N and Z gauge modular railroad layouts that we set up at our annual two-day model railroad show in the spring. One of our members also sets up his European layout, catenary and all. We participate regularly in the Great American Train Show when it comes to Omaha, as well as other local events sponsored by various groups.
